"Lest we forget…"
The Youth Council and the trade union activists of the healthcare institution "4th City Clinical Hospital named after M. Saŭčanka" visited the historical and cultural complex "Stalin Line". The tourist excursion to iconic places was especially relevant on the eve of the great event – the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The historical and cultural complex "Stalin Line" is one of the most grandiose fortification ensembles on the Belarusian territory. It was created for the 60th anniversary of Victory on the initiative of the "Memory of Afgan" charitable foundation with the support of the President of the Republic of Belarus. The complex was created by the method of folk (or public) construction, in which state and public organizations, enterprises of various forms of ownership, and enthusiasts took part. The main burden of the work on the creation of the museum fell on the shoulders of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
During an excursion, the team members examined the samples of fortifications – bunkers, dugouts, trenches, fighting holes, anti-tank ditches, "partisan village" and sites where weapons and military equipment from the times of the Great Patriotic War are presented.
Everyone could get in touch with the history of past years, imagine the actions of military equipment in battles while passing anti-tank guns, tanks, construction equipment, aircraft, anti-aircraft guns.
The Capital Museum of the Great Patriotic War is rightfully considered one of the world's best museums about the Second World War. Exhibits for it began to be collected back in 1943.
Of course, the trip could not leave us indifferent. It was an opportunity to once again remember the great feat of the Soviet people, to assess the price of our peaceful and prosperous present. This is a memory that we will definitely preserve for our children.
It is impossible to overestimate the feat that our fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers accomplished having won the long-awaited Victory.
