The primary trade union organization and the Youth Council of the healthcare institution «4th City Clinical Hospital named after M. Saŭčanka» have held the campaign «I am a Belarusian and I am proud of it».

Dzmitryj Kres, the trade union organizer of the vascular surgery department, told the audience about the formation of the Belarusian state, the historical past of our great country. The participants of the action exchanged their knowledge and shared their impressions. Dzmitryj Kres is actively interested in the history of our country, writes poetry in the Belarusian language.

The first mentions of the territory occupied by the modern Republic of Belarus and about the people living in this territory appeared in the 16th century, but in reality, it was used only at the beginning of the 19th century. The first and the brightest representative who combined the national flavor of Belarusians, their traditions and folklore in his work was the famous student of the Polack Jesuit academy Jan Barščeŭski. A quarter of a century later Francišak Bahuševič published «Dudka Bielaruskaja», where he emphasized the important features of modern Belarus: borders, language, historical legacy. After that, national writers, book printing, and periodicals appear.

The future classic of national literature Janka Kupala became the first people’s prophet and protector against other nations. Having absorbed all the experience of his predecessors, he was the first who raised the Belarusian literary word to an unprecedented height, his work is compared with the best examples of world literature, it is a real encyclopedia of the Belarusian people's life.
